Michele Stramezzi is the founder and principal architect of the Studio. He is an Italian architect from Milan. He studied in the Netherlands, at Delft University of Technology, and in Italy at Politecnico di Milano, where he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Architecture and Urbanism.

His career began in the Netherlands in 2003 at MVRDV and other international firms, where he worked across a broad range of project scales, typologies, and destination of use: residential, commercial, mixed-use and public buildings; masterplans, interior design, and international competitions.

In 2009 he moved to Beijing to work with Graft Lab and AECOM on large-scale architectural and urban projects. This period marked the beginning of his professional engagement with Asia and of a deep, lasting connection with Japan.

In Beijing, in 2012 he established his first independent Architecture Studio.

In 2014, he moved to Tokyo and joined Nikken Sekkei, taking on a leading design role in the development of the Forte Towers in Downtown Dubai.

In 2018, he relocated to Los Angeles, where he worked with PDA, a local boutique firm, on high-end residential and workplace projects, with a focus on interior design and renovations.

After California, he moved to Berlin, then to Milan and again to Saudi Arabia, while continuing to collaborate with an international network of architects, designers, and consultants.

Back in Tokyo, in 2025 he established Michele Stramezzi Architecture Studio.
